For those of you that don't know the Microsoft's Professional Services Tools Library (PSTL) is a great set of utilities developed the Dynamics GP team to address common issues faced by users or simply enhance productivity.
These tools include solutions that allow you to update key master records while still maintaining the integrity of the current and historical data. Let's say for example your organization has grown and you need to redesign your Chart of Accounts. The Account Modifier/Combiner tool will give you the ability to map the old account number to the new and when run, it will update the current and historical records to reflect the new account number. This let's you maintain the history, run comparative financials and enhance your overall reporting capabilities.
